What Is V-Rate?

V-rate is a state of the art video rating system introduced by Clipta in order to help our users navigate all video content. Unlike the standard rating systems that rate all videos by numbers only, V-rate is unique! It doesn’t just add rating to a video, it changes the position of the video on a search list, hence, helping good videos get more attention, instead of putting a high number next to it, and letting it get lost in the database.

How it works

Search vs Rating
Our priority for V-Rate intergraded search engine is still “Relevance”. However the order of the relevant videos is decided by V-rate. If you were to search for “cute puppy” and the result showed you 325,765 videos with search for “cute puppy”, the top video would be the one with a higher V-rate rank. Therefore, not only does V-rate help you find the video you are looking for, it also allows you to watch that video in the highest quality available.

Voting Power
Even though V-Rate system still relies heavily on number of votes, that is not to say that every vote is valued the same. Depending on some factors, such as your contribution, date joined, or V-Rates distributed, your vote may hold more or less power then the vote of another user. In short, the higher your vote is valued, the higher you yourself are valued in the community. Here are some factors that contribute:

• Registered members - A registered member has gained some aspect of trust, therefore, his vote will be considered more important then the vote of an incognito user who decided to rate a video.
• Date Joined - Even though this is not a very important detail when it comes to your personality and efforts, time has no rival. And we will acknowledge users who have been with us longer, so you will gain trust and power with time.
• Number of V-Rates - They say that the best way to learn, is by doing, and the best way to improve, is to contribute. Your contributions will be noted, as the more times you use our V-Rate system, the more power your votes hold.
